The leadership of the resort region in South Sinai, in an interview with reporters, expressed concern that in the hot climate of Egypt is unusually cold weather, uncharacteristic for the region. Temperatures drop to sub-zero temperatures and precipitation in the form of snow.
Fortunately such temperature extremes did not cover all of Egypt, but it is snowy and frosty on Mount St. Catherine.
In no less popular places for travelers, such as Luxor and Aswan, it also became cooler this winter (about five degrees Celsius at night).
In Cairo, the temperature dropped to 18 degrees during the day and about 10 at night.
The drought-stricken Egypt is not characterized by rainy periods. However, there has been a change here as well. Weather forecasters warn of heavy downpours. You can see warnings in the media to be more careful on the roads, to choose parking spaces carefully, and not to be under billboards during bad weather.
The resort towns also welcome the cooler weather. Sharm el-Sheikh is probably the most popular resort in Egypt, here the temperature at night falls to seven degrees.
Hurghada has warmer weather. No rains are forecast for these resorts in the near future.
