Belmond Hotel das Cataratas Iguassu National Park

It is simply impossible to be closer to the Iguazu Falls than the guests of the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas: the grandiose spectacle can be admired as soon as you step outside the hotel gates, as well as from the terraces and from some rooms. By the way, this is the only hotel on the territory of the national park on the Brazilian side, and it itself deserves exclamations of admiration.
- Direct access to Iguazu Falls
- Panorama of the jungle
- Exclusive tours of Iguazu Park
Belmond occupies a colonial-style hacienda of rare beauty: the building was built in 1959, but looks exactly like a 19th-century palace. An attentive eye will immediately notice Portuguese motifs: an intricate pediment with baroque flourishes, azulejo tiles in the bathrooms. The jungle that surrounds the hotel for many kilometers extends inside: the walls of the rooms and lobby are decorated with paintings of parrots and tropical plants. In combination with natural textures and a beautiful play of light, this creates a unique atmosphere.
A luxury hotel has first-class restaurants: Ipê Grill will be a delight for meat eaters - it serves the most tender Brazilian beef prepared using gaucho techniques. At Itaipu, the chef invites guests to try his version of Brazilian fusion, such as aromatic cappuccino soup with Serra Gaucha mushrooms and foie gras foam, or Amazonian pirarucu fish with cassava root sauce. If you book a table on the hotel s large outdoor veranda, the sound of the waterfalls will be the soundtrack to your dinner.
