La Bastide de Gordes
La Bastide de Gordes

Gordes, one of Marc Chagalls favorite places, is a typical Provencal ville perché, a fortified town on a hill. La Bastide de Gorges is inscribed in the city without a single seam — it is difficult to say where private houses end and the hotel territory begins. It occupies several communicating mansions of the XVI century, united by galleries-passages and terraces, one of which accommodates a luxurious swimming pool.
- The mansion of the XVI century
- Restaurant 1* Michelin
- Hotel in the heart of Provence
The hotel has repeatedly been ranked among the best hotels in the world thanks not only to the magical views and aristocratic atmosphere, but also to the high-class, Provencal service.
According to the idea of the owners, you should feel like visiting the Marquises of Provence here. Waiters and maids are dressed up in stylized folk costumes, rooms are decorated with antique furniture, portraits of the XVIII century and curtains made of tapestry fabric.
There are three restaurants for forty rooms. The most romantic of them, La Citadelle — with stunning views of the surrounding hills, shrouded in a blue haze. And in the summer of 2019, another restaurant opened here, which serves Asian fusion — for real jetsetters.
