Sirai House Laikipia Kenya
Sirai House Laikipia Kenya

The private Sirai House has taken up residence at the foot of snow-capped Mount Kenya, a 250-acre retreat with breathtaking views in every direction, surrounded by native forests and Kenyas game-rich hills and plains. Despite its impressive location, Sirai, like a lion pride perched high on a mountainside, sits gently in its surroundings, blending in with its native African flora and fauna.
- Unique location
- Panoramic views
- Lots of fun
Built by Kenyan craftsmen from local materials, the house celebrates a love of architecture, design and location. Sirai takes its name from the Maasai word for the milk thistle tree that, along with wild olive trees and cedars, dot the ridge on which the house stands.
Each cottage creates a private space for privacy. Behind a glass wall with retractable doors, a private terrace and landscaped pool overlook the plains of Kenya that lie below Sirai. The warmth of furs and fabrics is stunningly offset by the tranquil tones of stone and sky. The suite furthest from the main house is a magical hideaway nestled amongst the treetops with a private wooden walkway leading to a secret viewing platform.
Perfectly cleared paths lead you to the kitchen where Chef George seduces you with flavours and aromas. On warm evenings, set a table on the olive grove terrace for all the elegance of the dining room with a canopy of stars. The boma restaurant, with chairs surrounding a huge fireplace, offers a seafood barbecue or the finest selection of burgers with every imaginable accompaniment.
The exquisite pool area is an oasis for outdoor relaxation. Large double daybeds, each with a shaded umbrella and views of the Borana Reserve and the Kenyan plains beyond.
A selection of fine house wines from the impressive cellar, spectacularly located behind glass at the end of the dining room, which houses over three thousand fine wines from around the world, accompany Georges wonderful food.
